The next round of dealing begins with the antes and blinds. The blinds are forced bets that are not part of the normal bets. The player to the left of the dealer is the first to act, and the player to the right of the dealer is the last to act. The player who acts first in each round is the “first bettor” and has the obligation of making the first bet. In the subsequent betting intervals, the player who checks is called to “stay in” or the player who matches the previous bet is called to “call.” If the player raises the bet, then he or she is said to “raise.”
A player may bluff by betting that their hand is the best. In this case, the pot will be divided between them according to the bluff. In other cases, a player’s hand is the best, and they win the pot.
